The Benefits of Earthing/Grounding

Over time, lifestyle changes have disconnected us from our connection with the earth. Its very  rarely we walk barefoot outside.

We, of course, no longer sleep on the Earth. We no longer use animal skins as shoes and bedding that allow the earths energy to pass into our body. These practices were part of ordinary living until our modern age.

For a long time now we have replaced traditional leather (made from hides) with synthetic soled shoesmade from plastic and rubber – that keeps us disconnected to the earths energy when we walk or run outside.  Many of us live and work high above the ground in flats or offices.

Scientific evidence is continually emerging showing that being grounded benefits the body in many ways.  The evidence suggests that we need the Earth’s electrons for our well-being. It is believed that Earthing allows a transfer of electrons (the Earth’s natural, subtle energy) into the body. We know that inflammation is caused by free radicals and that free radicals are neutralized with electrons from any source. Electrons are the source of the neutralizing power of antioxidants. With regular grounding, numerous health benefits have been observed, such as:

  • Improved immune function
  • Improved digestion
  • Improved sleep
  • Rapid healing of injuries
  • Improved blood circulation
  • Harmonisation and stabilisation of the body's basic biological rhythms
  • Accelerated recovery from intense athletic activity
  • Reduction of inflammation
  • Reduced stress / anxiety / irritability
